I know it has been a while since my last blog. It has been very busy around here. We recently finished a new CD. If you don't tell anyone - I'll leave you a copy of one of the songs....
If you want a copy, just let me know. I found out the other day from a radio station in Tennessee that someone from Japan had heard one of our songs over their internet show and loved it!! How cool is that?
I wanted everyone to see a picture of my new present. It's a picture of a new ring that a dear friend from Alabama got me to go along with my new nails that my second mom gave me.. ;) I really hope to see all of you soon at one of our concerts. Please let me know what you think of my blog.. Don't forget - Jesus loves you and no matter what you are going through - this too shall pass!
Michi's Moments
These are moments from my life out on the road singing with my band and with a Southern Gospel Qt. I love what I do and hope you are encouraged as well as entertained by some of the antics. :)

The Steak Never Knew What Hit It!
This past Friday night we had the privilege to sing at the Evergreen Fish & Steak House near Mooreville. I absolutely love singing there because I love eating their food. It was, as always, a great singing. I got to meet some new friends and it is always special to sing there. We were a little down though because Mr. Perry wasn't there. He had been in an accident earlier in the week and we were all relieved that he was doing better than expected. I didn't disappoint him though. I tackled a steak as big as I am! I would have got pictures but it was gone before the camera flashed!
Saturday my boys - Shay and Noa had their football game. I was sure they were going to pull it off but they didn't They are all winners in my book! Shay and I left there and went Booneville's Fall fest to judge a talent competition. I am glad I wasn't competing in the competition. There was some great talent there!
We are off for the next few weeks. We will be recording music for our upcoming CD that is full of some of our favorite songs.
Keep in touch - I love reading comments..

Have You Ever Been There?
I say this most all of the time, "I don't know where I would be without music." Music has been my outlet to relieve stress. So many times I find myself almost depressed because we aren't singing on a particular weekend or maybe we just have one.
Recently, Shay wrote a song that we are going to record the music to later this week in Nashville. The title of it is, "He Never Left Me." The very first part of that song touched me so that I told Shay if he didn't let me sing this I wasn't cooking for him anymore! The first lines say: "I've been in a prison without a cell." I don't know about you but that's how it's been for me sometimes. I know in Christ Jesus I am free, but because of circumstances in my life it feels like there is an invisible jail cell around me. The chorus says: He never left me alone, when I was my weakest, that's when He was strong. When I get to sing this one folks I am going to put everything I have into it. I believe this song will hit home with a lot of us.
This past weekend we were at East Pleasant Ridge Bapt Church. It was our only singing this weekend and I enjoyed every second of it - especially the good food! WOW can these folks cook. After the singing we enjoyed our meal on the bus and I think it was the quietest that bus has been in a long time without everyone being asleep. If you don't have a home church and you are in the Baldwyn, MS area check them out, they may have something for you.
I wanted to share a few random pictures with you this week that I forgot I had. Noa has become our little equipment loader and unloader.. he sometimes gets someones camera phone and becomes the group photographer.. enjoy looking at our funny faces as we sing..

This past weekend was really great! I had so much fun getting to see all my friends in Jackson Al. We were supposed to sing Saturday, but you know how things go sometimes. We actually left out Saturday afternoon, but we didn't get to go in the bus. The new part for our bus was sent to the mechanic wrong two times! We had a great time on the way down to Grove Hill though. Brother Paul met us at Thompkins Bapt so we could set up and not have to get up so early Sunday morning. We got a chance to practice our new songs for the upcoming CD we are recording. It is going to be a treat! I get to sing me some BLUEGRASS.. haha! I don't even have the nose for it, but the guys do.. don't tell them I said that.
Let me tell you folks... that Thompkins bapt church has some of the most fun people I've ever been around. I think it's something about that entire area. We have fallen in love with these precious people around the Jackson, Al area. The singing Sunday morning was great! It is always good to be able to worship, minister, and laugh all in the same service. The minister was very good speaking about bringing GLORY to Jesus. It is something that I have always tried to do in my singing. He gets all the glory.
Those folks at Thompkins must have known I was coming. They had 5 big ole trays of fried chicken! We had a blast. There was this one pretty lady that kept taking pictures of Shay while he was trying to eat. Buddy managed to get some pix of his own of these wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ!

If you want to talk about fun.. the day just kept on getting better! We were at Stave Creek with Brother Jamie and wow what a service. It was as fun as the morning service and must have been good - some of our new found friends from Thompkins was there with us!!!! There was a few times Shay had us laughing so much that to look over the congregation it was easy to see that the Lord was using him to bring some happiness into their lives.
This week has been tough on me and I must be honest, I have those days like everyone else. Sometimes I wonder about that passage where Jesus said He wouldn't put more on us than we can bear. I wonder how close I am getting in my everyday life. Let me tell you something...singing and traveling takes me away from that every weekend. I get to meet people from all over the place that are going through the same things I am. The songs we sing and the places we travel are worth every mile when we know that it takes you out of your problems, if only for an hour.. Never let us take for granted the gifts God gives us. You might be a good singer or musician. You might cook well or sew. Whatever your talent is, share it with someone who's talent is to be a great audience, because they need it as much as you need to share it. I love you all and I am thankful that I got to see momma Allday this weekend - she helps me keep Shay, Buddy and Troy straight when we are in the Jackson area. Pray for us!
By the way, drop me a comment to let me know you are reading the blog. I want to keep in touch with everyone.

One Singing Just Isn't Enough....
We only had one singing this weekend. I have been telling Buddy that I have some new dresses to wear to these singings and he needs to get on the phone. He told me that if I had some new dresses then maybe I needed to call up these pastors and say, "Hey, I have some new dresses! Please book our group to sing at your church." I guess it's not that easy.
This Sunday we were singing at Cairo Baptist Church. If you've never been there you are missing out! They are lovely people to sing to. Cairo is very close to Ecru, Mississippi. Shay and I had the opportunity to bring Noa and Nemo along with us and let me tell you that is a treat. I barely had enough time to get myself ready keeping up with Nemo that I almost forgot to fix Troy and Buddy's hair.
Sometimes things happen on stage that are funny. Troy, don't kill me for what I'm about to share. We were singing Hide Thou Me and his retainer broke. He claims he swallowed some of it. Let me tell you though, he's a trooper! We didn't know about it until after the song was finished. I sure was glad it was Troy's retainer and not Buddy's partials, because I'd still be laughing right now if those had of popped out of his mouth!
One thing I am requesting this week - PRAYER! The change in the weather is always something I have to deal with every year about this time. I am thankful that I was able to sing without too much trouble, but once I got home I could barely speak. Ya'll just pray that this coming weekend at the Mantachie Fest (5:30 Saturday) and Nauvoo, Al (1pm Sunday) I'll be able to keep up with the guys. I don't need them thinking this ole gal can't keep up with the old men!
I hope to have some pictures from the Fest this weekend - if you see me, let's get our pic together.

It's Been A While -
This summer has been busy for me. It has been busy for my family. Shay, as most of you might know, ran for a county office this summer. He worked in the Tax Assessor's office for 15 years and his boss was retiring so he gave it a run. He did great and we [myself, Noa, Nehemia, Buddy, Troy, and all of our families] could not have been more proud of him. He did not win the election, but we know that God has some bright things ahead of us in the future.
Now that the politics are over - it's time to get back to sangin! This weekend we were just outside of Jasper, Alabama in a place called Parish. That about tells me more than I knew before we left! Ya'll know me - I just show up in time for Buddy to call Shay's phone and find out why we were late; so I can catch the bus. Buddy should know by now that I have to be told we are leaving an hour before we actually leave in order to make it anywhere on time. Shay just answers the phone and quotes a scripture to him: Gen 3:12 to be exact - The woman the Lord hath given me is why we are late. Sooner or later the guys are going to realize I run things around here. It don't matter what time they say we are leaving - we don't leave till I get on the bus! hehehehe
The Church of the Living God is a little white church on the hill that is beaming with country folks with great hearts and love the Lord. I love singing for people that love to worship the Lord. If you are ever in that area and want something new and exciting - pay them a visit...I'm sure they would love to have you. Casey Tennison was with us this weekend and he managed to shoot some video (when he wasn't baby sitting our boys....sorry Case). I hope you enjoy - and check out some of the other video we have on youtube!! Also, join us on facebook too!!

Stave Creek "Back to the Bible" Conference and new man at the wheel of the bus!
Well folks this has been an awesome weekend!! Stave Creek Bpt held their yearly conference & we were so honored to be a part of this special event. It was so fun, reviving, & most of all encouraging.
On the way there....... I ran them 30 min late leaving out. Yeah!!! As my all time signature trademark. ;) That's what I'm sooo good at!! They were all feeling a little dizzy from the smell of nail polish remover & then the nail polish... Gripe, gripe, gripe & then complained about the fumes... I didn't smell a thing!!
Check out these 2 sweet ladies from Stave Creek. Precious ladies I have grown to love!!
Here are a few pictures of us doing what we love to do - SING SING SING!!
We got to know Bro. Lucky Teague!! He'll have you laughing one moment & then crying from laughing so hard... We love Bro. Lucky!!
Ever heard of Buckatanna, MS?? Home of Coon Meat & turnip greens!! Yeah you heard me right folks!! Coon Meat!!! You betcha I'd try it!! Probably would love it!! I grew up on Turnip green & all different kinds of varments we'd eat!! If it moved, we'd eat it!! We sang at Chicora Bpt Church in Buckatanna, MS & had a great time w/those folks!! Next trip out to Buckatanna, the coon don't stand a chance....
I think Buddy was relaxed & not a care in the world when Shay relieved his duties of driving. Shay drove part of the way home. Not bad. He kept it pretty steady. I told them to let someone who really know what they are doing to drive this big rig. Yeah!!! Til next time!! God bless!!
WATCH OUT - There's someone else behind the wheel!!!
